Dance Dance Evolution

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sio @ 2:48 am

Ryder Park 202,105,23 – A while back, we found a serious dance floor, and some club lighting on SLX…the dance floor is amazing, but HUGE, and no copy. The lights are complicated, and no copy. The whole shooting match takes up a lot of prims, so we don’t keep it rezzed anywhere. But I found some nice lights and dance-floor stuff, that doesn’t eat a lot of money or prims, in a corner of Silentfox Designs in Ryder Park. Bought a couple of things, just to keep ’em around.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Primouth 104,110,30 – My God, It’s Full of Cars… Primouth is a wild sim with some of the most beautifully-built automobiles I have ever seen in SL to date. The crafting is magnificent — no simple textures on a flat dashboard here! But they won’t break your prim-bank, as they are attachments. Just wear them and drive away. Many of these gloriously appointed vehicles have flight modes, as well as tintable windows and color-change menus. If you haven’t seen these before, stop by for a look!

Sometimes, you just need a tree

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sio @ 2:37 pm

Alcona 148,174,106 – Mikey’s Plant World looks like any old SL nursery at first — trees, plants, shrubs, flowers…except there’s a difference. I wanted some trees that were copyable, so I could rez them when I wanted, as many as I wanted, not just a single “arrangement” that might get nuked by the asset server, and his Mikey’s has lots of copy-enabled trees and plants available. Worth a look!

ama gi 29,43,22 – Well, this is pretty, and there’s some nice information boards for Debian Linux here. A nice building in the shape of a Linux Cluster floats over a little lagoon, and the interior of the building houses group seating and is textured in stained glass. A delightfully artistic setting!

Periwinkle 45,122,38 – Fascinating! There’s a railroad running from Purple to Bhaga and all over. You get your own trains and run them on the tracks, which run over right-of-ways on protected land. This station is in Periwinkle, and is especially beautiful.

The Omega Concern

The Omega Concern 189,46,37 – This is the main store of The Omega Concern, source of quite possibly the finest personal defensive and weapons systems (from a compact yet fully-capable handgun up to an M1A1 Main Battle Tank) and other scripted products anywhere on the grid. Craftsmanship and product support here are superb. Also here you will find the Omega Combat System and the Fulda Gap RP area.

TalTech Weapons

Galleria 117,201,406 – One of SL’s finer weapons shops, with a very wide selection, recent renovations and an elaborate weapons range.

The Dr. Who Experience

Katrina 132,187,27 – Apropos of our post about Cheshyr’s Landing at Gallifrey there is also “The Dr. Who Experience”, with a large SF-themed shopping area and (under construction) an amazing replica of the Cardiff secret offices of “Torchwood”. (Post by Maggie)

Timeless Underground

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — Maggie @ 11:21 pm

RavKom 37,209,24 – Timless Underground is a very fine little dance club owned by Timeless Prototype, developer of the famous Multi Gadget. Come out and meet manager Moixe Grumby, and her partner Rane Mokeev and the other TU live DJs.

Oh, by the way: the club is in damage-enabled space, which adds an amazing edge to the feel…so behave yourself.

International Spaceflight Museum

Spaceport Alpha 48,83,24 – Nobody who has an interest in astronautics should miss the spectacular International Spaceflight Museum. This huge multi-sim venue has interactive exhibits and full-scale, professional quality replicas of just about every real-life spacecraft that has ever flown.

There’s a large theater streaming NASA TV, too.
Maggie rates this one five-stars plus.

Oceanside dAlliez 20,30,501 – Hathor Sands does some fantastic weapons, under the “Bullet Theory” name, including a .45 Long Colt that’s simply amazing. The amazing Phoenix Combat System for vehicles, and ACS combat system for avatars, also come from this impressive shop, as well as a series of automated wait-staff. Worth a look!
